FY26 Community Project Funding

  • Cincinnati Police Department – Mental Health Response Team and Camera Technology Project

    • Description: The project would enhance the Cincinnati Police Department (CPD) and Emergency Communication Center’s (ECC) ability to respond to certain calls for service with mental health response teams, and improve CPD and ECC’s current camera technology. $641,145 is requested for the Mental Health Response Team, with $407,147 for personnel, $72,510 for police cruisers, and $161,488 for technology, software, equipment, and associated costs that will ensure that sworn police officers are able to respond to higher level, urgent public safety needs in the community by dispatching mental health specialist and paramedics to low-level mental health crisis calls for service or a mental health crises. $1,126,556 is requested for the Camera Technology Project, with $203,573 for personnel, $130,000 for police cruisers, and $792,983 for technology, software, equipment and associated costs to enhance public safety throughout the city with upgraded camera technology and infrastructure that will prevent and deter criminal activity, and aid evidence collection, crowd monitoring, and traffic management. This project is a good use of taxpayer dollars because it would support local law enforcement and increase public safety through investments in operations and technology.
