In Washington, D.C., interns’ responsibilities include answering phones, researching legislation, attending hearings and briefings, and answering constituent letters on various issues before the House. Interns will also assist in various administrative tasks as needed. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a Congressional office.

In Cincinnati, interns’ responsibilities include answering phones, researching legislation, attending and staffing community events, assisting constituents who visit the office, and other tasks as needed.

Ideal candidates should be available from May through July and should possess strong communication and research skills. Applicants with ties to the 1st Congressional District of Ohio are preferred, but not required.

The office is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, national origin, disability, military status, age, marital status, or parental status.
