Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (OH-01) announced that Ohio would receive $154 million in federal funding to help families and seniors with their winter energy bills.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the State of Ohio $154 million in federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding.
The LIHEAP program provides funding to states during winter and summer months which is distributed to low-income households in the form of one-time, annual credits that are applied directly to eligible households’ utility bills – lowering their monthly out-of-pocket energy costs.
The LIHEAP program is administered by the Ohio Department of Development and is open for applications between July 2023 and May 2024.
Eligible Ohio households can apply for LIHEAP online or in person:
In Hamilton County by calling the Cincinnati/Hamilton Community Action Agency at (513) 685-4478 to schedule an appointment
In Warren County by calling Warren County Community Services at (513) 970-6737 to schedule an appointment
Household eligibility for LIHEAP in Ohio is determined as follows:

“I came to Congress to cut costs for our families,” said Congressman Landsman. “As energy bills spike during the colder months, this program will help our families stay warm and save money. I’m thankful to our partners at the Ohio Department of Development and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and I’m eager to continue working together.”
