Congressman Landsman Introduces House Resolution Condemning Former President Trump’s Call to Defund FBI and Department of Justice
Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (OH-01) introduced a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives that condemns former President Trump’s call to defund the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Earlier this month, former President Donald Trump called on Congress to defund the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice. Following this unprecedented attack on the FBI and Department of Justice, Congressman Landsman has introduced a resolution in the House that condemns former President Trump’s malignment of federal law enforcement authorities.
Congressman Landsman’s resolution in the House serves as companion legislation to a resolution introduced in the Senate by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
“Every day, the men and women of the FBI and the Department of Justice protect and serve the American people,” said Congressman Landsman. “From public corruption and violent crime to terrorism and kidnapping – the FBI and Department of Justice defend our nation against the most dangerous threats we face. Congress will not defund the FBI and Department of Justice, and Democrats and Republicans must go on record rejecting this outrageous attack on federal law enforcement authorities.”
