Landsman Statement Regarding Vote on H.R.9495
Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman released the following statement regarding his vote opposing H.R.9495:
On H.R.9495, I absolutely support tax relief for Americans who have been held hostage abroad and ongoing efforts to pursue nonprofits who may aid terrorist organizations.
Like many, I re-read the bill last week in the context of Trump’s appointments and the fact that loyalty to Trump is the top priority plus the re-emergence of Project 2025. The reality is that this bill, if it were to become law, would give one person in the Administration too much power to go after innocent nonprofits, not for security reasons but political ones. As a result, I changed my mind and voted no.
Thanks to all back home that reached out on this bill.
