Landsman Bill to Track Ukrainian Children Abducted by Russia Signed into Law

Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) announced his bipartisan bill to help Ukraine track their abducted children by Russia was signed into law.

Congressman Landsman’s bipartisan bill – the Abducted Ukrainian Children Recovery and Accountability Act – will reestablish the U.S. Department of State’s program to provide the Ukrainian government with technical and training assistance to track the abducted children.

The Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab estimates up to 35,000 children from Ukraine have been kidnapped and deported to Russia during the war.

In March, Congressman Landsman uncovered a cut to a State Department program tracking stolen Ukrainian children and pressed Secretary Rubio to temporarily restore its funding.

Landsman’s bill was included in Congress’ National Defense Authorization Act, which was signed into law by President Trump Thursday night.
