Landsman Leads Bipartisan Bill to Make Child Care More Accessible
Cincinnati, OH – This week, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) and Congressman Dan Meuser (R-PA-09) introduced bipartisan legislation to increase support for child care small businesses through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Congressman Landsman and Congressman Meuser’s bipartisan Child Care Small Business Insight and Improvement Act would increase the SBA’s role in supporting for-profit child care small businesses across the country.
The Child Care Small Business Insight and Improvement Act would:
- Require the U.S. Small Business Administration to conduct a study on the needs and challenges of for-profit child care providers, identify what resources the SBA currently provides to for-profit child care providers, and make recommendations to address the challenges faced by for-profit child care providers.
- Require the study to report on how often fraud occurs among for-profit child care providers.
- Make recommendations for changes needed to prevent the misuse of federal funds received by for-profit child care providers.
Congressman Landsman:
“Our goal is to make life better for children and families, and increasing access to quality, affordable child care is a huge part of that.”
