Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) introduced a bill to cap the cost of insulin for children.

In line with his long-standing commitment to lowering costs and helping children and families, Congressman Landsman reintroduced the Making Insulin Affordable for All Children Act – legislation to cap the cost of insulin for children.

The Making Insulin Affordable for All Children Act would ensure that those 26 years of age or younger who are covered by private health insurance plans or Medicaid would pay no more than $35 per month for their insulin products.

Congressman Greg Landsman:

“Insulin is a lifesaving medication, but every day in our country, families are forced to make drastic financial decisions to make sure their child with diabetes has what they need to survive. I’ve seen firsthand what the outrageous cost of insulin does to families across Southwest Ohio, and no child should be deprived of care because of it. Congress capped the cost of insulin for seniors, now let’s do it for our children.”

Tracy Ramey, Ohio #insulin4all T1International Chapter Leader:

“Ohio #insulin4all proudly supports the Making Insulin Affordable for All Children Act. This crucial bill could save lives through easing the burden of exorbitant insulin costs. We value Representative Landsman’s care for this vulnerable population of insulin dependent Ohioans.”
