Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) sent a letter to President Trump urging him to work with major social media companies to combat antisemitism on their platforms.

In the letter, Congressman Landsman called on President Trump to work with the leadership of X, TikTok, Meta, and other social media companies to stop the spread of antisemitic hate speech and protect Jewish Americans from rising threats and violence.

The letter follows the rise in antisemitism and antisemitic violence in the United States, including recent attacks in Boulder, Colorado and Washington, D.C.

Congressman Landsman’s letter reads, in part:

“Social media companies have largely failed to take action to combat the rise of antisemitic content on their platforms, and in some cases, have repealed rules and regulations to prevent the spread of hate speech. The widespread failure to respond to antisemitism online has had devastating consequences, as evidenced by the recent terrorist attack against Jews in Boulder, Colorado, as well as the horrific murders of two Israeli Embassy staff members in Washington, D.C. Antisemitic content normalizes and encourages violence and extremism that threatens Jewish Americans and our entire country.

“As the President of the United States, you have the power to work with the leadership of major social media companies to confront antisemitic content on their platforms. Stopping the proliferation of hate speech online is one of the most crucial steps that can be taken to combat rampant antisemitism and protect the Jewish community in our country, and I urge you to respond forcefully and responsibly.”
