I voted to stop voter suppression and insider trading. This bill had two purposes: make it harder for Americans to vote and codify insider trading in Congress.

Congressman Landsman, along with Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Congressman Kevin Kiley (CA-03), and Congressman Eugene Vindman (VA-07), introduced the bipartisan No Profiting from Public Service Act to ban politicians, Supreme Court Justices, and other federal officials from trading stocks and using prediction markets to wager on government and politics.

We so badly need focused and unifying leaders. But, it was very much a self-aggrandizing and combative speech, which is not what strong leaders do.

In July, Landsman released his Pledge to America – an op-ed laying out a clear plan to fix what's broken and deliver for hardworking Americans. The plan detailed 10 bills, which include changes to the tax code, investments in housing, and lowering prescription drug costs for seniors.

Seeing President Donald Trump's shameful and wildly unpopular budget forced on the American people through a tie-breaking vote by the vice president was one of my most painful days in Congress. Voters in my district and across the country didn't ask for this and they don't want it. More than 60% of Americans oppose Trump's budget, 58% say he's gone too far in slashing the government and only 44% approve of his handling of taxes, according to a CNN poll released July 16.
