Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (OH-01) welcomed Mitch Landrieu, Senior Advisor to the President and White House Infrastructure Implementation Coordinator, to Southwest Ohio where they highlighted the impacts of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and federal funding opportunities available to Southwest Ohio.

Congressman Landsman and Senior Advisor Mitch Landrieu visited Cincinnati as part of the Administration’s Investing In America tour where they highlighted the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act’s investment of $1.385 billion in federal funding for the Brent Spence Bridge replacement project, $127 million for the Western Hills Viaduct replacement project, and $20 million for the State to Central: Building Better Neighborhoods project.

Congressman Landsman and Senior Advisor Landrieu were joined at the Brent Spence Bridge by Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece, Brendon Cull with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Dave Baker with Ironworkers Local 44, Tommy Arnold with the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Jake Hesseling with the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments.

Following their visit to the Brent Spence Bridge, Congressman Landsman and Senior Advisor Landrieu led an informational roundtable at Xavier University with community leaders from Hamilton and Warren Counties where they shared information on the federal funding opportunities available to Southwest Ohio from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including roads, public transportation, broadband, water systems, airports, renewable energy, battery systems, and more.

“The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act represents an unprecedented level of federal investment in American communities – and its delivering in big ways right here in Southwest Ohio,” said Congressman Landsman. “After years of talking about infrastructure, Democrats and Republicans came together to get this bill done – and the results are multibillion dollar projects like the Brent Spence Bridge, Western Hills Viaduct, and State to Central: Building Better Neighborhoods moving forward. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act has something in it for every community – whether its bridges and viaducts, to broadband, street paving, public transportation, and water systems. And these federal investments are going to rebuild our economy through newer and better infrastructure and the good-paying jobs that come with it. Among other ways we will serve our constituents and community, our job is to help folks from Hamilton County to Warren County identify and go after the federal dollars they deserve. And its transforming streets like Central Parkway into community hubs that are safer, more walkable, and more vibrant.
