Landsman Publishes Harsh Critique of Trump During Visit to SW Ohio
Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) penned an op-ed in the Cincinnati Enquirer on President Donald Trump’s visit to Southwest Ohio.
In the piece, Landsman writes an open letter to President Trump making it clear no matter how hard he tries to sell this as the “Golden Age of America,” most Southwest Ohioans are not feeling it. From the economy and tariffs to health care costs, energy bills, public safety and federal jobs, Landsman urges the President to work with Congress to fix these issues that matter most to his constituents.
The op-ed reads, in part:
“You arrive in Cincinnati today, and it’s important for you to know what’s actually happening in Southwest Ohio…
“We are decent, hardworking people who care about one another. We don’t like the chaos. We hate the corruption in Washington. We don’t like the cruelty.
“We work together, despite our differences, to get things done for the community we all love, and we expect our national leaders to do the same – focusing on the needs of us, not big donors who seem to be getting everything they want at the expense of the rest of us.
“Please work with Congress to get costs down and end your trade war, restore your health care cuts, get utility costs down, reign in ICE and pass a bipartisan funding bill for Homeland Security, invest in local public safety, invest in our public schools, protect our federal jobs, and help end the hyper-partisan divisions that keep us from doing big things.”
