Cincinnati, OH – Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) published the second edition of his Pledge to America, titled The Great American Comeback.
In July, Landsman released his Pledge to America – an op-ed laying out a clear plan to fix what’s broken and deliver for hardworking Americans. The plan detailed 10 bills, which include changes to the tax code, investments in housing, and lowering prescription drug costs for seniors.
After feedback, Landsman published the second edition, titled The Great American Comeback. It provides greater clarity of the vision, why this comeback is so important, and how it’s rooted in American history and values.
Americans are working harder than ever but losing faith that their hard work pays off. The Great American Comeback is about rebuilding our democracy and economy so we can change that.
A new generation of bold, anti-establishment leaders will drive this unifying vision – challenging a rigged system that works for the wealthy instead of everyone else.
Congressman Landsman:
“Purpose is everything, and we’re desperate for a shared purpose right now.
“Our country is facing serious challenges that undermine the American Dream: affordability and healthcare crises and threats to public safety, democracy, and global and national security.
“I believe we need a comeback from the current crisis we face as Americans; from the mess of this Administration and decades of broken policies, especially economic policies that have made America unaffordable for most people.
“The second edition brings more clarity to the 10 bills, adds reforms – including efforts to tackle the climate crisis – addresses the needs of rural communities, and outlines ways to make career training more affordable.
“This should be an interactive process where folks continue to engage and offer advice as to how we might make this better.
“We want to build this together.”
